Continued export of natural mineral and natural spring waters from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Republic of Croatia

The Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina provided all necessary technical support to producers of natural mineral and natural spring waters produced in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of continuing export to the market of the Republic of Croatia.

Namely, the Law on Agriculture (Official Gazette 118/18) came into force in the Republic of Croatia, which stipulates that producers of natural mineral and natural spring waters extracted from third countries’ soil, for which the recognition procedure has been carried out in the Republic of Croatia and the recognition decision issued, are obliged to submit to the competent Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia a certificate issued by the competent authority the state in which the water is pumped, confirming that the water meets the requirements of the current regulation prescribing the requirements for natural mineral and natural spring water, as well as regularly checking the application of regulations.

The Agency, in cooperation with the Commission for the Recognition of Natural Mineral and Natural Spring Waters in Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted the application processing procedure, prepared and issued the appropriate certificates for the natural mineral water “Sarajevski kiseljak”, natural spring water “Nevra” and natural spring water “Leda”.

Certificates enabling the continued export to the market of the Republic of Croatia were handed over to the producers of natural mineral and natural spring waters by dr.sci. Džemil Hajrić, Director of the Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina at a meeting held on December 20, 2019 in Mostar. Representatives of the Commission for the Recognition of Natural Mineral and Natural Spring Waters in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina also attended the meeting.
